About

Setting and Lore: The World of ‘Idea’

The story takes place in an alternate world known as ‘Idea.’ The protagonist is a “Master” summoned by Idea’s three goddesses: the first goddess, Ami; the second (unnamed); and the third, Dandelion.

A Modern Twist on the Isekai Genre

While the concept of goddesses typically points to a medieval high-fantasy setting, Idea is quite the opposite—it is a world structurally identical to modern Earth.

The protagonist technically fits the classic trope of an Isekai (another world) hero:

  • He is chosen and summoned by divine entities.
  • He receives a blessing called a ‘Crown’ from the goddesses to boost his own strength.
  • He can share his ‘Holy Power’ to empower his companions.

However, where typical Isekai protagonists are revered as legendary figures, the main character of this work receives almost no special treatment or benefits within the story. Instead, he simply leads a mundane life, diligently taking care of his everyday responsibilities—subverting the traditional power-fantasy clichés.

Society and Demographics

Idea is divided into various ‘Metropolises’—such as Humanitas and Vermont—each boasting its own distinct culture, much like the urban hubs found in other creative fiction. The world is also home to diverse fantasy races, including humans, demons, beastmen, and angels.

The Unique Predicament

Despite their cultural and racial diversity, every society in Idea shares one major commonality: the entire population consists exclusively of women. There is not a single native male in the entire world, making the summoned protagonist the sole male existence in Idea.

According to Ami, the protagonist was specifically summoned because of his gender, making his role in this world incredibly vital. However, she deliberately keeps him in the dark, withholding any explanation of what he is actually supposed to do.

Metropolis – Humanitas

A metropolis built upon massive capital and towering technological prowess.

While it appears that corporations and money dominate every facet of existence, free spirits dwelling in the cracks continue to live out their lives in their own unique ways.

In this world where common sense does not prevail, lies a city so peculiar that one wonders just how it manages to function at all—a place where order and chaos, control and freedom, exist side by side.

This place is called 【Humanitas】.

Metropolis – Bermont

A beautiful city of culture where sensibility and art come alive. Amidst the precarious coexistence of religion and magic, the people here seek the ultimate truth.

While the majority of the population believes in a deity called ‘Harmonix,’ the city firmly guarantees freedom of religion. However, non-believers simply miss out on the countless exclusive events and perks offered solely to the faithful…

This place, where even faith is transformed into a source of entertainment, is called 【Bermont】.
