Currently, I operate several eBay shops in different categories as a full-time job. In my spare time I like to indulge in writing mobile game guides and reporting on my reselling activities. I occasionally write guides related to Get Paid To sites like FreeCash and Swagbucks, but less than I used to. I previously hosted wikis for: Apex Girl, Road to Rich, Dark Brides, and Passion Pit. In an effort to return this site to Family Friendly skies, I have removed such content.

Permadeath (part 3)

Well, I quickly gave up on my idea of an Aura-lock build. Getting that up and close to monsters and possible death was more than my nerves could handle. I’ll just try again with the first build.

I did make improvements, mostly by adjusting my starting stats to meet prerequisites for ranged Feats that I spaced out last time.

I am going to take 6 levels of Paladin to get Ghost Touch from the Knight of the Chalice enhancement tree. It also adds 1d6 light damage to my attacks.

4 levels of Artificer, so I can handle traps and get the Iron Defender pet to handle some aggro. The Renegade Master-maker tree gets me extra Hitpoints/AC/PRR and protection from magic missiles.

Lastly, 10 levels of cleric with maybe 10 Action Points placed in the Radiant Servant tree, while using the remaining points for Inquisitive.

I am at level 9 right now.

Permadeath (part 2)

On my first attempt, I used my old Banishing Flame build as it is well suited to the early game.

The build uses 3 levels of cleric and 2 of paladin, with the Domain set to Animal. The deity can vary depending on circumstances. I was playing Sun-elf, so I was restricted to Amautor.

I stack the turn undead bonuses from Radiant Servant and Knight of the Chalice to max out my Turn Undead ability, which, with Animal Domain, also affects animals and magical beasts.

I’d say maybe 40% of the game is either Undead or an Animal, so this works well.

I have 21 uses of turn undead at level 5 and can affect 4-6 targets depending on the roll. Everything goes poof.

The Sun-elves also get a Bane of the Restless ability, which adds 6 to turning level and 6 to hit dice turned. Plus 18d6 light damage to undead when turning.

It’s just icing on the cake.

Especially when stacked with the Paladin’s Divine Light, 18d6 light damage on turns. Bosses and champs with deathblock aren’t much trouble if I spam that.

I also used the Inquisitive tree and its dual crossbows to keep a great distance between myself and possible death. Sadly, my acid resistance spell wore off, and I died last time.

I think I will try a sword’n’board aura warlock with Banishing Flame build next try.

Permadeath (part 1)

Dungeons and Dragons Online has added a Hardcore server with permadeath.

I’ve been wanting to play this style for a long time.

I managed to get up to level 7 before getting killed.

I was taken out by a Troglodyte Shaman who cast Melf’s acid arrow on me. The DoT took me down to incapacitated and then death before my hireling could heal me.

Unfortunately, I can’t get back my Greater learning tome or the permanent gold seal hireling Eleri. Those two things really made a difference in the early game for questing.

I’m licking my wounds for now, and I’ll try again tomorrow.
