My mother reminded me the previous day to pick up a knish for her. My host was able to find a familiar deli on Google Maps that sells the pastry.
The Mill Basin Deli. I purchased two knish’s a potato, and a pastrami.

Our host was kind enough to make blueberry pancakes this morning. I had some.

It is the day of my flight.
I have packed my bag and stowed the bedding. My morning meal consists of NYS pumpkin pie made from all local ingredients and plain Greek yogurt (Chobani).
A cup of English Breakfast Tea (Bigelow).

It turns out that the day I will be flying out is my host’s birthday. So this evening we had a nice celebratory meal since I will not be here to celebrate with them on the day.

We had corn and wheat tortillas with refried beans, Jack cheese, sliced tomatoes, finely chopped lettuce, various sauces, dips, guacamole, and some nice blue chips.
Fresh-caught Blackfish fillets poached in the steam convection oven.

Two beers were served with the meal: the Belgian White (Blue Moon) and an Ambar Cerveza (Dos Equis).
We bought a chocolate with her name on it, but after the meal, there was little room for dessert.

We had a late lunch of fried rice, vegetables, and diced lamb.
On the side were black and green olives suspended in oil and two cheeses: goat and cow.
Wanting a bit more to eat, I boiled two free-range organic eggs and pan-fried some whole wheat tortillas seasoned with fresh grated organic horseradish.
The eggs I carefully halved while keeping the yolk whole. I stuffed the halves with fried rice, olives, and a smearing of horseradish.
The yolks were wrapped in a tortilla and devoured promptly. I had a Belgian White (Blue Moon) to wash it all down.

I fly home on Monday, so today will be a leisurely stroll. Prospect Park is the nearest option, so here I am.
My Uncle was with me today, and he chatted with some of the locals while we ate a light snack on the park benches.
I also visited Prospect Park the last time I was in Brooklyn for a visit, sometime around 2009. I recall couples were having their wedding photos taken at several locations throughout the park at that time.

I actually forgot to mention Saturday’s breakfast.
It consisted of scrambled eggs on toast and an espresso.
I usually get up early on Sunday to go to work, so sleeping in is a real treat. I am having a mix of Raisin Bran (Cascadian Farm) and Wheaties (Whole Foods) in whole milk.
Some soothing peppermint tea (Bigelow) to start the day. The bowl seemed to me to be of high quality.

I was enlisted this evening to help prep the meal.
My uncle wanted to cook Tumbet, which is a sort of Spanish casserole.
I have pictures of the prepped ingredients.
We also had a locally made cheese, some sausage, and a bottle of Pinot Grigio Venezia (Torresella).

We packed a lunch since we would be sailing. The meal was primarily the leftovers from the previous night.
The vegetable platter with potatoes, carrots, onions, and zucchini.
My father also brought along some very tasty smoked rainbow trout (Spence & Company), and we had some crackers (Carr’s Table Water).

It was raining on arrival and has been off and on again up til now for the most part.
However, the weather does seem to have improved enough to head to the boat.
Well, the yacht is on land for some repairs, but my father has a Catboat available for use. I am told the design is similar to the one we had in Port Townsend (WA).
