Starting off rooted firmly in my ancestry with a cup of English Breakfast Tea (Bigelow).

Granola seemed the best choice since we are having an early start today. I did see a box of Raisin Bran in the cupboard and figured half of each would be nice.

We have decided to take the train to Poughkeepsie today.
My uncle has seen the trip on a travel show over in the UK and would like to experience it himself. I do have a certain fondness for passages by train.
I am also hoping to get away from some of the taller buildings to get a nice view of the land and river.

My father made us a nice chicken dish with vegetables and rice. Sort of a light curry stew, the sort you find back home (WA).
Also, we had slices of tomato in oil and baked Delicata squash sprinkled with Bombay Mix.
A spot of beer, the Belgian White (Fat Tire), with the meal finished it off nicely.

With our bearings sorted, we managed to find Chinatown and looked around the shops for some souvenirs.
The place was madly packed with Pokèstops and Gyms.
Though with my Kanto dex complete, I don’t have much cause to catch anything.

I probably shouldn’t use my Google Maps as much as I do.
I ended up going in the opposite direction of what I had intended. We stopped in a shop for a slice of pizza and to use the restroom.
The business is called Tribeca Bagels.
The pizza was nice, especially the crust, just to my liking.

Our first stop this morning was the farmers’ market.
There were lovely fresh vegetables and many flower arrangements. We stopped for a cup of coffee at an open-air cafe near the park.
I got some shots of the lion statues from the movies in front of the library.
After getting reoriented, we made our way to Times Square.

I reached best-friends level in Pokémon Go with two players yesterday.
I had a lucky egg running and received 400k experience points total.
I have three other players nearing a week until the goal, so I am looking forward to it, yes.
The evening meal was served around 7pm.

The leftover chicken from last night was repurposed as a Bonne Femme. I have included the recipe if you would like to try it out.

There were two wines served at dinner, a Muga Rioja Red Wine and a Costamolino Argiolas White Wine.

We arrived at the apartment around 3:30 pm.
The walk on the beach and the wildlife reserve came to four kilometres. We sat down for a cup of tea with cookies while dinner plans were discussed.

I went with the Irish Breakfast Tea (Twinings) and added a splash of half & half for balance. The cookies were oatmeal raisin (Keebler), but rather dry.
I prefer more butter in my cookies.
After lunch, we visited the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge.
Walked about two kilometers and got some nice shots of monarch butterflies and mockingbirds.
Had WiFi problems and didn’t upload the images, and then later I lost the photos with a failed HDD.
Thankfully, I was later able to recover the images, and I have included them here in a great gallery of the Wildlife Refuge.
