Chestnut humus
New project and Ouch!
While we were having our carpets cleaned, I decided to go out and root around in the woods. I checked the pond and the overflow “pit” and decided to expand some.
I used branches and fallen trees to make a barrier and then piled leaves and dirt on top. I then used rotting and burnt boards to shore up the sides and packed more dirt against those parts for more resiliency.
I have a trench running down from the overflow connecting to this newly cleared land. When the rainy season arrives and the pond fills and overflows, I expect it will look nice.
During the bit with the boards, I stuck my thumb on a rusty nail.
Ouch!
So I am waiting at a clinic now to get a tetanus shot.

Makgeolli picture gallery
A step-by-step photo gallery of the process for making Makgeolli at home.
The rice is cooked and then laid out to dry until it becomes crispy. Afterwards, we add nuruk to the vessel and some liquid. The rice is torn up and added to the vessel, and then mixed by hand (my mother used gloves).
The mash is eventually left to sit, covered, in a cool spot in the home.
It’s a bit more involved than that, but I don’t recall everything that occurred back then.
Birthday dinner pictures

It was a large seafood platter with all sorts of shellfish, seaweed, and noodles.
Makgeolli (막걸리)
I was rummaging through the attic and found this old water vessel.
It’s a good size and I am craving some good drink these days. We will start making some batches of makgeolli (막걸리) this week.
After checking recipes, there are two to try out, a regular one and another with ginger.
너무 많이
I’ve got too many photos of food and little to say about it. Before the meal, I take lots of shots, but afterwards I always forget to post them.
We held ancestral rites recently and there was also a feast on Halloween. There will be more large meals on my birthday and again on Thanksgiving.
I think I may make an Instagram account to post all the pictures. I am running short of space on WordPress.
Permadeath (part 11)
So I managed to kill off another character.
My level 24 Purple Dragon Knight (PDK) died in Thunderholme. I was adjusting the mirrors and foolishly walked through one of the laser beams. Instant death.
This was the toon that wasn’t competing. I was just playing around casually and not taking any chances. Big fail.
I got the Bleeding Eyes and the Red Sash reward from the event.
I am looking forward to transferring this guy over to the normal server. I managed to unlock 3 filigree slots on his sentient maul.
I also got a +8 Wisdom tome and a +6 Strength tome from gold rolls on this fella.
His crit rate while buffed is 35% with a multiplier of x7.
I usually see 500pt and 700pt crits, and using Exalted Smite, I have seen it go as high as 3,500 damage. It should go higher once I complete the sentient weapon.
My maul is Cormryn from the Eveningstar challenge vendors. I got lucky and pulled a Good Blast of Improved Paralyzing. There is a 3rd effect on the maul, but I don’t recall what it was.
Permadeath (part 10)
I died. Again.
Just 12k reaper exp away from getting my 10th point and the nice reward. I had been running everything on R2 during my second life and was quite confident.
At level 14 and holding rank 56 on the reaper leader board, I got taken out by a group of rats in “Invitation to Dinner.”
I don’t feel like there is enough time left before the event ends for me to recover from this upset. I will head back to Cannith and farm the Mabar event.
I also play Forge of Empires and Pokémon Go, which also have Halloween events running, so I have lots to do.
