Plans for posting

Now that I am home, I can go through the photos that I took on my vacation and upload them.

I have access to my desktop computer, so it will be much easier than using my phone.

Over the next week, I will post photo galleries relating to spots on my trip in NYC.

These will be similar to the galleries from my visit to the Brooklyn Museum.

All of the photos will be those I took using my camera. I use a Fujifilm Finepix HS 25 EXR.

A birthday

It turns out that the day I will be flying out is my host’s birthday. So this evening we had a nice celebratory meal since I will not be here to celebrate with them on the day.

We had corn and wheat tortillas with refried beans, Jack cheese, sliced tomatoes, finely chopped lettuce, various sauces, dips, guacamole, and some nice blue chips.

Fresh-caught Blackfish fillets poached in the steam convection oven.

Two beers were served with the meal: the Belgian White (Blue Moon) and an Ambar Cerveza (Dos Equis).

We bought a chocolate with her name on it, but after the meal, there was little room for dessert.

Sunday Morning

I actually forgot to mention Saturday’s breakfast.

It consisted of scrambled eggs on toast and an espresso.

I usually get up early on Sunday to go to work, so sleeping in is a real treat. I am having a mix of Raisin Bran (Cascadian Farm) and Wheaties (Whole Foods) in whole milk.

Some soothing peppermint tea (Bigelow) to start the day. The bowl seemed to me to be of high quality.

Friday’s dinner

Tonight’s meal was prepared by my father.

He chose to cook up some lamb chops seasoned with rosemary. A bowl of thinly sliced and quartered cucumber in sour cream and oil.

Using a steam convection oven, a platter of potatoes, carrots, and onions was also cooked.

Our wine for the evening is a Bourgogne Pinot Noir (Pierre Gruber). Dessert was Turkish sweets.

Lastly, boiled cabbage with raisins lightly peppered.

I am afraid I have once more spaced out taking the photos.

All I have are pictures of the leftovers.

After Lunch

We strolled down to the waterfront while the meal was digested.

Some nice foliage and animals about. We saw a woodchuck in the park. The cute little thing was stuffing its cheeks with clover.

After the park, we returned to the train station for our return journey to the city. Riding the train car, “Tear the Clouds,” I chose the riverside seat for our trip back to New York City.

I mistakenly deleted the pictures of the woodchuck and the foliage while clearing images on my camera.
