My journey through the state of Florida began midway through my trip down the Intercoastal Waterway (ICW) back in 2010.
On that trip, we sailed along the eastern US coastline from Virginia to Florida, stopping at several coastal towns.

Sailing down the Ditch
Back in 2010, I joined my father on a sailing trip from Virginia to Florida with hope of crossing over to the Caribbean.
The “ditch” as it is commonly referred to is more formally known as the Intracoastal Waterway or ICW.
