New phone

Well, I finally got fed up with my dinosaur of a phone and ordered a new one.

I had been using an Alcatel Pop 5.5 which had been getting slower and slower by the day.

It really just didn’t have enough internal storage (8GB) or RAM (1GB) to handle all of the updates that were constantly coming out for every little app.

My new phone is actually fairly old from 2015 but has good specs. I bought a Samsung S6 Active. It’s built tough for drops, and shocks and is waterproof.

It has 32GB storage and 3GB RAM so I shouldn’t have too much trouble with my apps just yet.

The phone is fast, it has an octa-core processor and loads Pokémon Go quite fast. In fact, the phone has a blue button on the side that can launch a preset app. I’ve got that set to Pokémon Go 😀

Starbucks Stars (Discontinued)

Earlier this year, I signed up for a Starbucks account so that I could play the Summer Game Boardwalk.

I ended up getting 100 Stars, which is 25 shy of a free item. I have been waiting for another deal so that I could get a free item without having to load any money into the account.

Free stuff is fun, and free Starbucks is even better.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be working out, as all the deals I’ve seen lately have required spending some cash.

There are 2 offers that I have decided to take up to get those Stars I need for free rewards.

Currently, there is a promotion to earn up to 475 Stars from reloading your account with Chase Pay for 20 bucks on 3 occasions.

I only need to do this twice for my plan to hit 375 Stars. The next part of the plan is to sign up for the Starbucks Prepaid Visa card by Chase, which has a welcome bonus of 125 Stars when you load $10 onto the card.

The card has a minimum load requirement of $25, which is annoying.

Anyways, this will bring me to 500 Stars, which is 4 free items. I’ll then also have 65 dollars leftover on my account to spend at Starbucks.

The $65 left on the account will be used to buy 4 bags of Whole Bean Coffee ($12.95) and 1 box of VIA Instant coffee packets ($9.95).

These can either be gifted to family, consumed at home, or flipped on eBay, depending on my needs.

Home

I’m back home now (NC) and running some errands.

I’ve got bulbs to plant in the front yard somewhere. Also need a replacement spray nozzle for the hose out back.

We’ve headed to Walmart to grab those items, and we will hit Harris Teeter for bean sprouts.

I usually get my bean sprouts from HT as I find them to be fresher than the other grocery stores in the area.

Generally, I’ll get my Napa cabbage from Food Lion when I’m making a batch of 김치 (Kimchi).
