Dieting time

I’ve been thinking for a long time that I want to lose some weight but I never really stuck to any plan. My recent stay in jail gave me the time to come to a decision. I had nothing to do in solitary for over a month other than exercising in my cell.

I looked up weight loss supplements and medicine and decided on the following items.

CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid): 3 pills a day

Persimmon Leaf Tea: 1 cup a day

Raspberry Ketones: 2 capsules a day

Fish Oil (Omega-3): 3 pills a day

Apple Cider Vinegar: 2 tsp. a day

I am totally unable to swallow pills, so I will be sucking the oil out of the caps and mixing the powders in a drink.

I’ll be doing mostly Ab exercises as I do want to build some muscle. I may also do some weight lifting for my arms. But otherwise, It’ll just be aerobic workouts and bicycling.

I currently weigh 173 lbs. and my goal is 155 lbs. Its not a big difference since I do want to keep some muscle mass in my upper body. I figure a lot of my weight is in my thighs which are thick with muscles from cycling.

I wish the bathroom scale could tell me how much each part of my body weighs individually.

No Dice

Just recently, Snickers had a giveaway for a new flavor, “Peanut Brownie.”

Like many, I had the giveaway page bookmarked and was ready the day of the offer. Alas, no dice, I was unable to secure a box of this treasure.

They were only giving away 1000 boxes, so I knew my chances were slim.

I had 3 internet browsers open to the page and hit the refresh button on each and had my auto-fill ready, but I could not stand against the tide, it seems.

I can remember reading on a blog that a previous limited edition Snickers pecan bar had gone for a high price on eBay.

So I went to check if this one was being listed, and oh boy, what a loss.

Maybe I’ll have better luck next time.

Swagbucks: DoorDash Offer

I just did a Swagbucks offer for DoorDash while at work.

I ordered a large strawberry milkshake with extra whipped cream for around 10 bucks, with the fees.

I received 2,000 SB for the purchase. It even arrived 20 minutes earlier than the app suggested it would.

With this latest offer and various other ones, I am now up to 22,500 SB in my balance.

That is $225 in potential gift cards. Perhaps more if I get them on a discount.

Long Game

I got an email from the Long Game debit card folks. They’ve decided to nerf the free accounts and add a monthly fee.

There will be two other tiers depending on card use, but the requirements are rather excessive. It might be worth it if they had a competitive cash-back program or other rewards.

I received my Robinhood Debit card today.

It looks great, though I likely won’t use it. Any money spent would be taken away from what I have available to invest.

I completed the Current card offer in Drop and got a 50-dollar Amazon gift card. I also got drowned in spam after trying to complete the Even Financial loan offer.

The darn thing kept sending me to different payday loan sites, and each one sent me junk texts and calls. It’s all going to my business email/phone and has become a real headache.

Update

Been so busy I haven’t had time to make a proper post.

Offers

I signed up for the Current debit card. You can get 55k points by signing up through the Drop app.

I was also able to open a Blockfi account to transfer the Ethereum I earned from the Long Game debit card account I previously enrolled in. Blockfi earns you interest on crypto held in the account.

DDO

In DDO, my favor guy is just past 2600 favor. I am worried I may have skipped too much and will miss the 5k mark come level 19. My reaper toons are still alive, though I have many close calls due to all the lag on the Hardcore Server.

Lastly, I have got a bunch of stars from the Starbucks game currently running.

Chime

I had signed up for the Chime app recently. There was an offer for $30 in the Drop app after enrolling and receiving a $200 direct deposit within 45 days.

Unfortunately, I was unable to close the deal as my employer’s deposit was rejected by Chime. I ended up being mailed a check for the balance.

I had emailed Chime a couple of times for an explanation, but no luck.

After looking around online, I found that many others have also been rejected. So I don’t feel so disappointed now about the loss of the deal.

Oh! It’s a button

I’ve been emailing support and generally complaining elsewhere for a couple of weeks about TradeUp.

I got my free share notifications, but nothing had been credited to my account. The complaints stemmed from not getting any responses from their support team.

Anyways, I was checking out the app and my phone slipped out of my hand, and as I fumbled with it, I ended up pressing what I thought was just a picture.

Turns out it was the button to redeem the free stock. I certainly feel silly now that I found this out.

All is well now, I have 3 shares of NIO and 1 share of Ford.

Miffed

A couple of weeks back, the US Mint released the “Pride of Two Nations” coin set. It was a limited sale with 5 sets per person.

Apmex was offering to buy the sets for $20 more than the cost of the sets. The deal was listed on two awesome sites I follow for deals: Miles per Day and Doctor of Credit.

I got signed up with APMEX and ordered my coins. My order number was early enough to meet the cutoff for selling to APMEX.

Up until the order arrived, they had been emailing me instructions on how to proceed with the shipping. But once the coins were delivered, they dropped contact.

They never sent me shipping labels. I called them and was transferred to the sales department, but the guy was away.

They never called me back. No one has responded to my emails.

I only bought the coins because APMEX was offering to buy them. Normally, such a purchase would be out of my price range. The 5 sets are equal to a month’s pay for me.

I just feel like I’ve been misled and left holding the bag. A very expensive bag.
