First 7 Days for New Commanders

Welcome to the battlefield, Commander! For your first 7 days, the main idea is to avoid spreading your resources too thin.

First 7 Days for New Commanders by Elliot Parker, originally published at (https://flexforum-warline-global.farlightgames.com/post/31)

Don’t try to do everything all at once! Join a strong Alliance right off the bat, train up just a single squad, and try to get the most out of your Gold, Rush items, and resource crates mainly during events. Follow this guide to build a solid foundation!

As soon as you enter the game, link your email to avoid losing your account! Next, change your name immediately. Many strong Alliances won’t accept players with default numerical names, as they assume it’s an inactive alt account.

After completing the Main Missions up to “Clear City: 18”, the Alliance system will unlock for you. Try to join the highest-ranked Alliance you can. Check their member count, Alliance level, and whether their leaders are active in World chat. In other words, you’re looking for a big Alliance with high-level Alliance Gifts, and chat/rally participation is a good measure of Alliance activity. Don’t create your own Alliance! In the early game, the perks of being an Alliance Leader are no match for what you’ll get from joining a strong Alliance.

As for your Officers, focus your resources on training a squad of 5. For the early game, a good formula is 2 front-row Officers plus 3 more for DPS and support. Avoid spreading your resources (EXP, pieces, and equipment) thinly across too many Elite or time-limited Officers.

For your first day, follow the main missions to clear your City, upgrade your Command Hub, and unlock buildings and techs. The 7-Day Logins event starts on day 1, so just log in for 7 days in a row to get a base skin for free!

Once you upgrade your Command Hub to Lvl 4, Forward Path, Path of War missions, and Expedition Pass will be unlocked, while March of Titans unlocks at Command Hub Lvl 5. Try to reach 10 million Power during the event to earn a Legendary Tank Officer Part: 130mm Smoothbore Gun, which boosts the Officer’s Attack and Crit Rate when equipped.

The main priorities for today are to claim all free rewards, join an Alliance quickly, and keep upgrading your buildings and tech.

Day 1 Priorities:

  • Link email, change name, and join an active Alliance.
  • Upgrade Command Hub to Lvl 6/7.
  • Claim rewards from 7-Day Logins, Forward Path, and Path of War.
  • Research techs and make sure your Tech Lab is never idle.
  • Settle on a main squad and focus your EXP and gear on them.

Path of War is one of the most important events for your first 7 days. You don’t have to complete all missions on the day they’re assigned, as many will remain available until the event ends—but make sure not to break your daily login streak! You’ll earn 100 Alexis Klauser pieces if you can earn 700 event points!

Focus on radar missions, Drill Grounds, Officer upgrades, and Main Mission progress. Drill Grounds has a daily attempt limit, so start as early as you can. Prioritize spending Officer EXP on your front-row and DPS Officers, rather than spreading it evenly across all Officers.

Day 2 Priorities:

  • Keep upgrading your Command Hub to around Lvl 8/9, and try to meet upgrade requirements for other key buildings.
  • Stay on top of radar missions, Drill Grounds, and Officer training.
  • Keep working on Path of War missions.
  • Open resource crates as needed, but try to open “pick” crates sparingly.
  • Max out your daily Alliance Helps.

On Day 3, you can start Rookie Arms Race if your Command Hub is Lvl 7, as well as Joint Offensive, which requires Command Hub Lvl 5.

Starting from today, don’t use Rush items randomly. Check the current Arms Race objectives before you upgrade buildings, choose techs, train soldiers, or Sweep enemies outside your base. Early game progression isn’t about speed—it’s about using the same resources to achieve multiple objectives across several game systems at the same time.

Don’t let your Recruiting Office sit idle—recruiting soldiers is a stable way to boost your Power. Prioritize Joint Offensive and Sweeps, as those PVE rewards will help fund your future upgrades.

On Day 3, most Commanders will unlock Predator Squad (requires completing the Clear City: 40 mission) and Motor Pool gameplay (requires Command Hub Lvl 7, completing the Clear City: 61 mission, and a server age of at least 3 days). These features offer excellent rewards, including Legendary Officer pieces, Universal Components, and Gold.

1. Motor Pool: Dispatch Trucks & Raid Cargo

A. Basic Guide

Motor Pool is a resource-raiding game mode that takes place on the open map, where you’ll dispatch trucks and raid the trucks of others.

Dispatching: You can dispatch up to 4 Transport Trucks per day. Be sure to send your strongest squads to escort them securely. There are 5 qualities of trucks, and the higher the quality, the better the rewards.

Raiding: Open the “Other Trucks” tab in Motor Pool to view other Commanders’ trucks as they travel on the open map, then select one to raid it. You can only raid 4 times per day, so choose wisely!

B. Transport Contracts

Transport Contracts are a special Motor Pool consumable item used to upgrade truck quality and refresh their cargo rewards. You can obtain Transport Contracts in the following ways:

  • Complete daily missions and claim event rewards.
  • Exchange Rivalry points from Tactical Rivalry.
  • Claim gifts from limited-time events.

By using a Transport Contract to refresh 5 times, you’re guaranteed to refresh a Legendary Transport Truck!

C. Newbie Tips

i. Make sure all slots are active daily.

Trucks do not automatically re-dispatch—after arrival, you have to manually dispatch them again. Make it a habit to check the Motor Pool red dot notification when you log in. Don’t let your slots sit empty!

ii. Check rules before raiding.

Check the rules set by your Alliance leaders before raiding to avoid internal conflicts!

iii. Don’t waste Transport Contracts.

Let your Transport Contracts add up during your first 7 days. Don’t spend contracts trying to refresh a Common truck to Legendary, as this is inefficient. Wait until the Tactical Rivalry event so you can spend them all at once.

2. Predator Squad: Dispatch Officers & Complete Missions

A. Basic Guide

In Predator Squad, you’ll dispatch Officers to complete missions, which will automatically refresh in batches. Select a mission, then choose suitable Officers and dispatch them. Once the mission is complete, you can claim resource rewards. There are 3 types of Predator Squad missions:

i. Individual Missions: You can complete these daily on your own to earn rewards for yourself.

ii. Alliance Missions: Go to the Assist tab, then tap “Assist” to participate in the missions of other Alliance members for fixed rewards. Each mission can only gain 1 assist, on a first-come, first-served basis.

iii. Raid Missions: Go to the Raid tab to raid the missions of players from other Alliances for fixed rewards. After a successful raid, the targeted player’s rewards will also be reduced. Missions that have been assisted cannot be raided again.

Predator Squad missions each have a difficulty, which is indicated by a number of stars. The difficulty increases with the player’s Command Hub level.

Predator Squad missions have different quality levels: Elite, Epic, Legendary, and Legendary plus a star mark.

Missions of higher difficulty or quality provide better rewards, but the upgrade requirements are also higher.

B. How to Get Better Individual Missions

Tap the Refresh button at the bottom of the Predator Squad home screen to refresh your current Individual Missions.

  • Refreshes will spend your Strike Orders first. Once exhausted, Gold will be spent instead.
  • Refreshing will reset all undispatched Individual Missions.

Once you reach VIP 12 or Command Hub Lvl 27, Elite Dispatch will be unlocked.

C. Newbie Tips

i. Dispatch all Individual Missions every day.

Individual Missions are your most reliable source of earnings. Remember to claim your rewards and re-dispatch promptly. Don’t let those slots sit idle!

ii. Prioritize Legendary missions and consider refreshing lower-quality missions.

Elite and Epic mission rewards are limited, so refresh these if you have enough Strike Orders. Go ahead and dispatch Legendary and above missions—don’t waste them!

iii. Earn extra rewards by assisting allies.

Assists provide pure profit—you’ll earn rewards without spending any resources. Check the Assist tab daily and don’t let them go to waste!

iv. Time your raids properly.

Check with your Alliance leadership’s rules before raiding! Raid attempts are limited, so prioritize high-reward missions instead of wasting attempts on lower-quality ones.

Day 3 Priorities:

  • Try to reach Command Hub Lvl 10/11 and enter the Arms Race rhythm.
  • Max out your Joint Offensive and Sweep opportunities.
  • Check event objectives before using Rush items, resource crates, or doing training.
  • Keep focusing on developing your single, main squad.
  • It’s not recommended to attack other players unless it’s been clearly planned by your Alliance.

Starting on Day 4, Operation Hammerfall, Raven Hunt, and Alliance Exercise all enter their first-week rhythm. Today’s the day you’ll find out which Alliances are truly active.

As soon as you log in, check the Alliance chat, then look at the event objectives. Prioritize Alliance content, including defeating Raven Hunt monsters that require the entire Alliance to rally and attack, along with events like Alliance Drill and Alliance Exercise. Keep researching techs to unlock more training capabilities and long-term benefits.

Recruit Orders and Officer upgrade materials should be used in conjunction with events. If the event objectives include recruiting, upgrading, or hitting Power targets, then use the items. Otherwise, save them for later.

Day 4 Priorities:

  • Participate in rallies and other Alliance activities.
  • Complete Operation Hammerfall, Alliance Contest, and Solo Contest missions.
  • Participate in Raven Hunt.
  • Keep researching at the Tech Lab and try to reach Command Hub Lvl 12.
  • If your Alliance seems quiet, consider switching to a more active one.

Day 5 is the perfect time to use the Rush items, resources, and soldier recruitments you’ve saved up. Today, joining rallies, boosting Power, and using Rush items will serve to transform all the building, tech, and Officer upgrades of the last few days into raw Power.

But don’t upgrade randomly just to boost numbers. The priorities remain the same: buildings required for Command Hub upgrades > Recruiting Offices/Soldiers > techs > main Officers > other buildings. You’ll get the most value by focusing on Command Hub upgrade and Week 1 events.

Day 5 Priorities:

  • Use Rush items strategically to meet Arms Race objectives.
  • Upgrade the levels, equipment, and skills of your main Officers.
  • Recruit soldiers non-stop at the Recruiting Office.
  • Participate in Alliance rallies and Alliance Contest missions.
  • Check for any unclaimed Path of War rewards.

Day 6 typically brings resource shortages, tech bottlenecks, and insufficient soldiers. Check the following: Are my building tasks idle? What about my tech tasks and Recruiting Office? Have I done all my Alliance Helps? Have I done Arms Race and Joint Offensive?

Only open crates if you’re low on resources, and save “pick” crates for resources you’ll need more of later. Gold will become increasingly scarce as you progress, so don’t use up your pick crates for common resources too early.

Day 6 Priorities:

  • Catch up on buildings required for Command Hub upgrades.
  • Catch up on any lagging techs and soldier recruitment.
  • Do all Joint Offensive, Arms Race, and Solo/Alliance Contest missions.
  • Check resource crates, but only open if necessary.
  • Keep focusing your upgrades on your main Officer squad.

On Day 7, check all Week 1 rewards: the first-week rewards for 7-Day Logins, March of Titans, Steel and Fury, Arms Race, Joint Offensive, Drill Grounds, plus Raven Hunt.

If you’re a very active player, you can keep pushing to upgrade your Command Hub and Recruiting Office. Casual players should make sure to at least complete the daily routine: claim rewards, do Alliance Helps, keep building/tech/recruitment tasks busy, do Sweeps, and try to max out events.

Day 7 Priorities:

  • Check 7-Day Logins and Week 1 events for any unclaimed rewards; Check whether you’ve reached 10 million Power to get your Legendary Part from March of Titans.
  • Make sure your Command Hub, techs, recruitment, and main Officers aren’t lagging behind.
  • Plan next week’s goals for your Command Hub and Recruiting Office.
  • Stay active in your Alliance and keep up with its pace.

Follow this checklist when you log in every day, do what you can, and you’ll stay competitive!

  1. Claim 50 Stamina per day, at least 4 hours apart.
  2. Complete daily missions for max activity to earn Recruit Orders, Aide Recruit Coupons, Transport Contracts, and Strike Orders.
  3. Do Alliance Helps and check Alliance messages.
  4. Upgrade buildings, research techs, recruit soldiers, keeping all task slots busy.
  5. Dispatch trucks in Motor Pool.
  6. Dispatch Officers for Predator Squad missions and assist allies with their missions.
  7. Check daily objectives before using any Rush items, resource crates, or upgrade materials.
  8. Max out daily missions, Sweeps, gathering, and Alliance events.

What makes a difference in your first 7 days isn’t whether you spend money—it’s whether you avoid wasting resources. Don’t waste Rush items, don’t upgrade a wide array of Officers, don’t stay in an inactive Alliance, and don’t let your task slots sit idle. That’s it!
